Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE coffee and my day doesn’t function properly without a good cup of coffee in the morning. Blue Bottle Coffee originated in San Francisco, California and I tried my very first latte from them about seven years ago during a visit to the Bay Area. I immediately fell in love with the taste and flavor of their rich espresso and was saddened by the fact that their coffee was only limited to the San Francisco area at the time. So when I found out that they were expanding and opening up coffee shops in Los Angeles I was ecstatic! I recently visited the Arts District location for breakfast with my husband before we took our toddler out for some playtime. I ordered my usual caffe latte, but this time I was really interested in trying their liege waffle to go along with my coffee. Unlike the other pastries that they offer, the barista doesn’t make the waffle until you order it to ensure maximum freshness. So when my waffle was ready it came out piping hot and I couldn’t wait to devour it. It was absolutely delicious, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Not too sweet but just sweet enough, it complemented their coffee so well. I’m so looking forward to going back for another one next time.
On a side note – their affogatos are also amazing and a must try whenever you get a chance!
